CAREER BRIEFLY

With exception of Wayne Gretzky, Cy Young is perhaps the only athlete in any sport who holds truly untouchable records.  His 511 wins are nearly 100 more than the second-place Walter Johnson; he has logged more than 1,000 innings more than anybody else; he has thrown 100 more complete games more than the next on the list, Pud Galvin.  He said he pitched for 22 years and “never got a sore arm,” and looking at his totals, it’s easy to believe him.
